Bakkafrost Scotland will once again attend the Royal Highland Show at Ingliston from 20-23 June

The UK has over 160 different native breeds (cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, equines, fish, and poultry). As well as being a significant aspect of cultural heritage, they provide resilience to both the UK’s food supply chain and the rural economy.

The value of Bakkafrost Scotland’s native breeds is growing local produce in their natural environment, and this underpins our Native Hebridean Scottish Salmon brand with provenance guaranteed.

Native Hebridean is our fully traceable inimitable native strain, originally descended exclusively from wild stock from North Uist. The salmon are robust, lean and noticeably firmer. Fresh, they offer a succulent and sea fresh taste of the Hebrides.

The salmon are harvested and delivered to our smokehouse for smoking with our ‘Traditional Island Recipe’ of finely crushed sea salt using wood shavings from aged Scotch whisky barrels.

Our commitment to provenance and the highest standards differentiates us. We export our Scottish salmon to 26 countries, from North America to the Far East.

We’re engaged in every stage of the value chain, from Broodstock to rearing in Scottish waters, helping create and retain value in the local economy and maintain total control of quality standards. We have a significant investment plan in Scotland over the next 10 years to extend our value chain to ensure sustainable growth.

Where you can find us

You can find us at stand C81 and in the Food for Thought Cookery Theatre, sponsored by The Scotch Butchers Club and Native Hebridean Salmon, which will feature a number of well-known chefs using Scottish brands to prepare mouthwatering food.

We are also hosting a reception at 4pm on Friday 21 June and have invited key stakeholders, media and influencers to join for some light refreshments.

Hope to see you there!
